Seasonal Food February 2015

What is going on in the countryside surrounding Tetbury during February? Remaining true to our commitment to local Cotswolds produce means we allow seasonality to exert its natural influence and we look forward to the different varieties that each month brings. So what can you expect from this February's produce? What are the key driving forces for our many local suppliers? And how does all of this affect what is happening in our hotel and restaurant in Tetbury - The Priory Inn? Read more

Rhumble makes his entrance to The Priory Inn

Rhumble has made his first appearance at The Priory Inn, emerging from a massive white canvas on our large end wall.  Carole Conde is our local "artist in residence" over the next few weeks until Rhumble is completed.  Carole made Rhumble's acquaintance on Minchinhampton Common and his name derived from one of Winstone Ice Cream's tastiest offerings - rhubarb and crumble. He will be for sale to a very good home.

You can follow Rhumble's progress here .

Winners of Cotswold Life Food and Drink Awards 2014

Our trip to Cheltenham Racecourse earlier this year for the Oscars of the food and drink world resulted in a thrilling award for The Priory Inn. We are very proud to now have the "Best Cotswold Menu" (sponsored by Frobisher's) award to our name and our thanks go to Cotswold Life for another sparkling and memorable ceremony.

This award is only possible because we work with the very best suppliers and producers within a 30 mile radius of Tetbury.   Without their dedication, drive and constant commitment to quality, we couldn't put such tasty, local, nutritious food on our tables.

Both front and back of house, our team is dedicated to showcasing the great local food and drink offerings and this award also reflects on their hard work and total belief in our product. We thank them all.

Fancy a takeaway??

...authentic fish and chips with minted mushy peas and homemade tartare sauce
...gourmet burgers (beef with bacon jam, lamb and harissa with yoghurt, mint and cucumber or Teriyaki chicken with sweet chilli mayo) and, of course... wood oven pizzas
To complete the perfect takeaway, local ale, lagers and ciders in takeaway bottles.
All ready to go during service periods - just call through your order and come and collect!

Allotment over-run with veggies?  Herb garden overflowing? Even garden flowers that are too plentiful for your use? Bring any excess to us and we will swap it at current market value for vouchers that you can use in the restaurant, bar or even hotel!

Kitchen Herb Garden

A huge thank-you to the team here for working so hard to get us ready for the planting of our culinary and aromatic herb garden.  Jekka and Team McVicar have nurtured our plants in their Alveston herbetum and we have been eagerly waiting for the Spring to see them bedded in. Sunshine and rain will now be the perfect ingredients for an ever-changing garden this year and beyond.

The Priory Inn "30 Mile Food Zone"

In November 2008, we launched our "30 Mile Food Zone" (as the crow flies) at The Priory Inn.
It grew out of a belief in the quality of food and drink on offer so close to us here in Tetbury and a genuine desire to represent the suppliers, farmers, growers and local artisans on our menus and behind the bar.
It has become bigger than we could have imagined!
