Seasonal Food April 2014

What is going on in the countryside surrounding Tetbury during April? Remaining true to our comittment to local Cotswolds produce means we allow seasonality to exert its natural influence and we look forward to the different varieties that each month brings. So what can you expect from this April's produce? What are the key driving forces for our many local suppliers? And how does all of this affect what is happening in our hotel and restaurant in Tetbury - The Priory Inn? Read more

Real Ale and Cider Day 5th May 2014

From midday on Monday 5th May 2014 - in our soon-to-be planted herb garden - we will have some great live music alongside lip-smacking ales, cider and micro-brewery Cotswold lagers. If the weather is uncooperative we will all move inside!

The first musical act to tempt you with is the marvellous singer songwriter Phil King from Bristol "I am not interested in making music that impresses people, just music that touches people." And he does.

He is playing alongside Tetbury's own acoustic duo with harmonious vocals and gutsy guitar-playing - the ever-popular Staple Hill.

Barter at the Back Door

Allotment over-run with veggies?  Herb garden overflowing? Even garden flowers that are too plentiful for your use? Bring any excess to us and we will swap it at current market value for vouchers that you can use in the restaurant, bar or even hotel!

Kitchen Herb Garden

A huge thank-you to the team here for working so hard to get us ready for the planting of our culinary and aromatic herb garden.  Jekka and Team McVicar have nurtured our plants in their Alveston herbetum and we have been eagerly waiting for the Spring to see them bedded in. Sunshine and rain will now be the perfect ingredients for an ever-changing garden this year and beyond.

The Priory Inn "30 Mile Food Zone"

In November 2008, we launched our "30 Mile Food Zone" (as the crow flies) at The Priory Inn.
It grew out of a belief in the quality of food and drink on offer so close to us here in Tetbury and a genuine desire to represent the suppliers, farmers, growers and local artisans on our menus and behind the bar.
It has become bigger than we could have imagined!
