360,000 brush strokes later...Rhumble is complete!
Carole Conde has completed Rhumble the handsome Minchinhampton Hereford on our
Rhumble has taken: 170 hours / 40 pots of paint / 12 meters of timber / 360,000
brush strokes / 3,000 trips up and down the ladder / a massive allowance of fun
/ and huge injections of guest appreciation.
We have also thoroughly enjoyed the process of seeing Rhumble emerge from a
massive white canvas on our large restaurant wall. Carole Conde has been our local "artist in
residence" since November working away on his gorgeous
features, feathery ears and shiny nose. Carole made
Rhumble's acquaintance on Minchinhampton Common and his name derived from one of
the ice-cream van's tastiest offerings - rhubarb and crumble. He is now for
sale to a very good home.

Winners of Cotswold Life Food and Drink Awards 2014
Our trip to Cheltenham Racecourse earlier this year for the Oscars of the food and drink
world resulted in a thrilling award for The Priory Inn. We are very proud to now
have the "Best Cotswold Menu" (sponsored
by Frobisher's) award to our name and our thanks go to
Cotswold Life for another
sparkling and memorable ceremony.
This award is only possible because we work with the very best
producers within a 30 mile radius of Tetbury. Without their dedication,
drive and constant commitment to quality, we couldn't put such tasty, local,
nutritious food on our tables.
Both front and back of house, our team is dedicated to showcasing the great local
food and drink offerings and this award also reflects on their hard work and
total belief in our product. We thank them all.

Kitchen Herb Garden
A huge thank-you to the team here for working so hard to get us ready for the
planting of our culinary and aromatic herb garden.
Jekka and Team McVicar have
nurtured our plants in their Alveston herbetum and we have been eagerly waiting
for the Spring to see them bedded in. Sunshine and rain will now be the perfect
ingredients for an ever-changing garden this year and beyond.
The Priory Inn "30 Mile Food Zone"
In November 2008, we launched our "30 Mile Food Zone" (as the crow flies) at The Priory Inn.
It grew out of a belief in the quality of food and drink on offer so close to us
here in Tetbury and a genuine desire to represent the suppliers, farmers,
growers and local artisans on our menus and behind the bar.
It has become bigger than we could have imagined!
